April 30 marks the fall of Saigon, South Vietnam's capital, and the official end of the Vietnam War. The Paris Peace Accords, signed in early 1973, ended the United States' direct involvement in Vietnam and allowed a prisoners of war exchange following a U.S. withdrawal from Vietnam. The fall of Saigon signaled the return to a communist Vietnam.
Many continue to question just how many we left behind. It's a question we can't ignore. More than 1,600 Missing In Action service members from the Vietnam War remain unaccounted for. Our hearts are with Vietnam veterans, the fallen, the missing, and their families.
